With your help, around 1000 young people in Ukraine experienced lots of fun and joy at Christmas this year.  All of our families in Kosovo received a gift of firewood to last them 2-3 months.  Widows and orphans are warm because of your help.

As I have reflected on this new year of 2012, I am reminded of how dependent we are on prayer and seeking God’s will for Mercy Projects.  The back page is a short list of Prayer Requests for our 2012 Schedule.

The Lord has been so good to us. Where would we be without Christ in our lives?

Mercy Projects is and remains committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We are not just Christians working toward a good cause. I believe in good causes, however, we are working to bring the gospel of Christ to vulnerable children and their families.  There is an important difference based on these scriptures:

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Act 4:12

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”  Matthew 28:19

When you support Mercy Projects, our goal is to not only assist at-risk young people, but to see their lives transformed by the love of Christ.  The result is salvation in Christ, growing in faith, and living for Him.  This means “making disciples” as Jesus said in Matthew 2.

In some cultures, however, the sharing of the gospel is quite difficult.  The culture in Kosovo is Islamic and in that context you build relationships with families and then share your faith as a natural part of your friendship.

As a sponsor, you can write and share your faith with a family in Kosovo.  They appreciate having a relationship with you and are often very open to the gospel message

Most of our families in Kosovo suffer from severe poverty, disability, and unemployment.  A monthly sponsorship of $27 provides groceries and a portion is used to support local Kosovar believers to share the gospel with these families.  I love the fact that Albanian believers are now reaching their own people with Christ’s love
